City Recognized for Excellence in Communications

The City of Greenville has been recognized for outstanding work in a variety of communications mediums by the North Carolina City & County Communicators (NC3C). City staff recently won three Excellence in Communications awards from the professional association.

Greenville competed against Cities and Counties from across the state and won 1st place for its newly redesigned website,IMG_4926 1st place for a brochure design, and 2nd place for its television program, cityscene. Judges for the awards are all government communicators who have won national awards for their work.

"It's very gratifying to be recognized by your peers, not only from here in North Carolina, but also by some of the best from across the country," said Greenville Communications Manager / Public Information Officer Steve Hawley, "Our staff is tremendously talented, and these awards are a result of their creativity, professionalism, and collaboration with people from across several departments here in the City."

Greenville has now won 10 Excellence in Communications awards in the past eight years. Greenville was not eligible to compete for several years when Hawley served as the association's President and coordinated the awards program.

NC3C was formed in 2007 by professional City and County government communicators from across the state. Its purpose is to encourage professional development and networking among local governmental communications professionals.
