City Council Adopts FY 2012-2013 Budget

After a several-month process, the Greenville City Council approved the FY 2012-2013 Budget and 2013-2014 Plan at its June 14 meeting.

Highlights include:

• Balanced budget
• No change in tax rate
• Decreased tax revenue of 2.1 Million (due to property revaluation)
• Maintain municipal services
• Sanitation fees: 11.75 curbside & multifamily, 40.80 backyard
• Raise for City Council salaries
• Raise for City employees for 2012-2013, no raises for 2013-2014
• Minor tweaks: More money for:
  • Uptown Greenville
  • Street Lighting
  • City’s Economic Development Plan
