SUNDAY IN THE PARK - 2008

Sunday in the Park is a free concert series held in the Town Common at the Greenville Toyota Amphitheater held in June, July & August. The concerts begin at 7pm and last approximately 1 hour. In case of rain or inclement weather, the concert is normally cancelled. Bring a blanket or chair and come out for any evening of free entertainment for the whole family.

 

June 8             
The Tar River Community Band  An excellent wind ensemble that will play a highly entertaining variety of music for the entire family. 

 

June 15          
The Emerald City Big Band Come out and shag or jitterbug to the music of one of the best swing bands anywhere. 

  June 22           
The Greenville Summer Pops Symphony Orchestra Thrill to the sounds of a full symphony orchestra under the direction of Maestro Jorge Richter.

July 6             
Monitors are a Sunday in the Park tradition. Come out and hear their usual mix of soul, rhythm and blues, and contemporary music.

 July 13              
The Supergrit Cowboy Band is known far and wide as one of the best country-western bands in America.

Panyelo When you hear these steel drums you’ll think you’re on a Caribbean cruise.  Last summer this entertaining group organized one of the longest conga lines ever.

Molasses Creek is a nationally known group from out at Ocracoke who plays a charming blend of folk music and their own humorous original tunes.\

The Steep Canyon Rangers A group of highly talented young musicians who have developed, over the past few years, into one of America’s premier bluegrass bands.
