Welcome to the City of Greenville's Office of Economic Development!

The Office of Economic Development promotes and supports the City's economic development goals and strategies and it assists with West Greenville and Center City revitalization programs.

The City of Greenville is a hub of commerce, health services, education, and culture for Eastern North Carolina. Likewise, Greenville’s Uptown central business district is an anchor for Greenville’s neighborhoods and suburbs.

As a city, we understand that in the new economy regions are vulnerable without diverse, dynamic, and livable centers. The City's redevelopment initiatives complement public-private initiatives led by East Carolina University, regional economic development partners, and local business leaders to upgrade infrastructure; attract dynamic business firms to Greenville and surrounding areas; and train and retain the region's high-quality workforce.

The Office of Economic Development provides staff support to the Redevelopment Commission, charged with revitalizing Greenville's urban core, as well as the Community Appearance Commission.
