|Welcome to the Sanitation Division
of the Public Works Department
The Sanitation Division provides weekly refuse collection to its residents. This service includes household garbage, recycling, bulky trash and yard waste. It is presumed that all residential units in the City receive sanitation service. For single family homes, the fee will automatically start at Curbside service and a City-approved container must be used for collection.
Bags of household garbage must be placed in receptacles. City-approved rollout containers must be pulled to the curbside by 6am on the service day and removed from the curbside to a location behind the front line of the house no later than daybreak of the day following scheduled collection.
You do not have to sort your recyclables, they can be co-mingled. Containers used for recyclables must be placed next to the garbage containers on the service day.
Items that will not fit inside of your garbage receptacle can be placed at the curbside no more than two days in advance of the service day and will be picked up as bulky trash. For appliances and electronics, special pick ups are available on Wednesdays by appointment only. Please call (252) 329-4522 to schedule an appliance or electronic pick up.
Yard waste should be separated (leaves, limbs, etc.) and at the curbside but not in the road. Limbs can be no longer than 5 feet in length and 4 inches in diameter.
Curbside Service $13.25/month
Multi-Family Service $13.25/month
Premium Backyard Service $42.30/month
Curbside service uses a City-approved rollout container. The City has 64-gallon and 96-gallon containers that are available for purchase and will deliver them within the Greenville City limit. Please call (252) 329-4522 for current container pricing.
Multi-family service is for residential complexes utilizing a dumpster. City crews will empty the dumpster on a weekly basis.
Premium Backyard service is no longer available to new connections.
