Applicants for the Greenville Police Department must:

1. Be at least 20 years old.
2. Pass a rigid physical examination.
3. Be a high school graduate or have passed the GED.
4. Be of good moral character with no disqualifying criminal offenses.
5. Be a U.S. Citizen.
6. Be able to obtain a North Carolina Driver’s license.
7. Successfully complete the following:
   • Background Investigation
   • Drug Screen
   • Oral Interview Process
   • Physical Evaluation - Police Officer's Physical Abilities Test (POPAT)
   • Psychological Evaluation
   • Polygraph Exam
