The Greenvile Recreation & Parks YellowFins are one of the fastest growing teams in the Greenville Area Summer Swim League, starting from 15 swimmers in 2009 to more than 125 in 2016! We could hypothesize why so many families have joined our program, but we thought we'd let one of our parents explain:
“We enjoyed being part of a team that emphasized working together and learning, not just winning. You all promote and teach proper technique and are encouraging to all the children. Thanks for encouraging good sportsmanship, discipline more than driving the need to win races. It is great when the kids do win the ribbons, but they think of so much more in regard to the meets and beyond.”
Being a YellowFin is more than just competitive swimming. We aim to instill true values in the swimmers wearing gold and support them to compete as a team. Strength of body, mind, and spirit is stressed during every practice and gathering. Determination of individuals and team to show up with 100% effort, knowing success will follow. And confidence in one's self and in those around them. These are the core values of being a YellowFin.
