City Urges All To Get Their Cans Out To Sunday In The Park

The City of Greenville is using the Sunday in the Park concert this week for its annual canned food drive to benefit the Kids Summer Stock program for the Food Bank of North Carolina.

Super Grit Cowboy Band will headline the concert this Sunday, July 10, at 7 p.m. in the Greenville Toyota Amphitheatre at the Greenville Town Common. Admission is free, but organizers hope everyone will bring canned foods for the Food Bank’s Kids Summer Stock. Concert-goers can either bring canned foods or make a cash or check donation to the Food Bank.

In keeping with the food theme, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will be offering free samples of their Lemon Pie and Lemon Cake doughnuts at this concert.

A perennial Sunday in the Park favorite, Super Grit has been called the “The South's Hottest Honky-Tonkers,” by New York's Village Voice newspaper. The concert will last around an hour.
