Maple syrup making is common in the winter forests of the Northeast and upper Midwest; the Southeast, however, has its own version of Maple syrup using Sycamore sap. Learn how to properly identify Sycamore trees, how to tap them, and make a sweet syrup from their sap. Be prepared to spend the majority of the program outside and hike to find some good sycamore trees, so dress accordingly. A fire will be going for condensing the syrup and for warmth.
