Town Common Parking Lot to Temporarily Close

Post Date:04/04/2018
GREENVILLE, N.C. - The parking lot located on the east side of the Greenville Town Common will be closed beginning Monday, April 9, for drainage construction related to the City's Town Creek Culvert project.
The lot will open again on Friday, April 13, in time for the City's annual PirateFest to be held April 13-14 in uptown Greenville; however, there is the potential for another closure the following week (April 16-20). During the closure, vehicular access to the boat launch will be restricted, and limited pedestrian access to the fishing pier will be available. Access to the pedestrian bridge and the promenade along the waterfront will remain open.
A map of the area is included below with the portion to be closed highlighted in yellow.
The City of Greenville officially broke ground on the Town Creek Culvert drainage improvement project on March 15 at the Town Common. The $33 million project will upgrade the downtown area's drainage system and improve the quality of water that flows into the Tar River.
