Council Approves 2018 Street Resurfacing Contract

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Greenville City Council approved a contract during Monday night's meeting that will lead to more than 27 miles of Greenville streets being upgraded in 2018.
Council voted to award a $4.40-million contract to Rose Brothers Paving Company, Inc., of Ahoskie, N.C., for the City's 2018 Street Resurfacing Project. The project includes the resurfacing of 27.1 lane miles of City streets, as well as milling, deep patch repairs, ADA ramp upgrades, upgraded signal detection equipment, and pavement markings.
Among the major thoroughfares that are scheduled to be resurfaced as part of the project are:
- East Fifth Street (from Holly Street to East Tenth Street)
- East Arlington Boulevard (SE Greenville Boulevard to Red Banks Road)
- Hooker Road (Greenbrier Drive to Horseshoe Drive)
- Red Banks Road (East Arlington Boulevard to Charles Boulevard)
Work is scheduled to begin this summer and be completed by the end of the calendar year. A map of all of the streets included in the project is attached below. A full list of streets to be paved is available here.
With the completion of this contract, the City will have improved nearly 120 miles of roadway since 2013.
