The City of Greenville Financial Services Purchasing Division has been awarded the 2018 Sustained Professional Purchasing Award (SPPA) by the Carolinas Association of Governmental Purchasing (CAGP). The award is being presented today at the CAGP Spring Conference Banquet in Wilmington.

Criteria for the award include the use of technology, minority outreach, staff certification, customer training, vendor training, and the use of recycled products. The SPPA is presented annually by the CAGP to member agencies that have demonstrated excellence in purchasing standards during the calendar year.

"The Purchasing Division is pleased to be among this elite group of purchasers in the State," Greenville Financial Services Manager Denisha Harris said. "Thanks to the dedicated Purchasing staff and the leadership of the Financial Services Department for the work it takes to ensure a professional purchasing unit."

The City of Greenville Financial Services Purchasing Division was one of 13 agencies throughout the association to receive the award.
