Façade Improvement Grants (FIGs)

Property owners within an eligible area of the City (see map in link below) and with eligible projects may apply for façade improvement grants to improve the exteriors of their properties and businesses.

These matching grants are funded by the City of Greenville and awarded on a reimbursement basis with a maximum amount of $5,000 per façade (or side of a building). Property owner must sign the application, and if selected, the contract.

Applicants must attend a required pre-application grant workshop where staff will provide information about the grant program. Pre-application grant workshops are scheduled as-needed, provided that program funding is available.

To apply or schedule a pre-application workshop, please call 252.329.4512. The grants are awarded on a competitive basis. The Historic Preservation Commission reviews all applications and makes recommendations to the City Manager, who makes the final decision.
