The City of Greenville's Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Ordinance was enacted in 1989. It established a performance-oriented program requiring a project owner or developer to protect adjoining natural resources and properties, both during and after construction, from the effects of accelerated erosion.
The approval of the erosion control plan is based, in part, on the information provided in the Financial Responsibility/Ownership Form, the Land Disturbing Permit and submitted project plans. Amended forms are required to be filed if there is any change in the information included on these forms. The approval and the financial responsibility/liability cited on these forms does not automatically transfer with a change in project ownership. Acceptance and approval of an erosion control plan is conditioned upon your compliance with Federal and State water quality laws, regulations and rules. In addition, the land disturbing activity described in the plan may also require approval or permitting from other State and Federal agencies. An approval of an erosion control plan does not supersede any other required approvals or applicable permits.
