The Traffic Division is responsible for fabricating, installing, and maintaining regulatory, warning, and directional traffic signs on all City maintained streets. In addition, all street name signs on public streets are maintained by the City. The Department of Transportation is responsible for signs on state maintained roads. All traffic signs are made with high performance retro-reflective sheeting and placed in accordance with uniform local, state, and national standards.

The Traffic Division is responsible for installing and maintaining pavement markings on City maintained streets. This is accomplished using a combination of thermoplastic and water-based paints. Thermoplastic markings generally last 4-7 years while water-based traffic paints generally last 12-18 months.
The Traffic Division provides assistance with traffic control for special events, construction work zones, street detours, etc.
