About the Department

The Financial Services Department is a group of highly trained and empowered team of professionals that provide attentive customer service by continuously improving business practices and setting the standard for responsive delivery of quality goods and services to departments and citizens of Greenville in an effective and efficient manner.We provide services to the public and internal support services to the City and carries out its fiscal role in accordance with the City's goals and objectives as well as the policy and procedures set by the City Council. 

The Financial Services Department consists of four key divisions. Please click the link below to access each division.

Administrative Division

The Administrative Division is responsible to ensure that local ordinances are followed relative to purchasing, budgeting, and financial reporting; to include administrative oversight of debt and investment portfolios, debt issues, and the development of long range financial plans, but not limited to the preparation of the City of Greenville's approve Operating and Capital Budget 2014-15 Budget and 2015-16 Financial Plan, Comprehensive Annual Financial Report,and all action matters pertaining to the City's budget.

Accounting Division

The Accounting Division is responsible for all of the accounting functions for the City of Greenville. The Accounting Division is responsible for accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, grants monitoring, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, investments, and cash management.

Collections Division

The Collections Division is responsible for receiving payments directly for parking and civil citations, business privilege licenses, local business tax receipts, accounts receivable, rescue service transports, emergency alarm registration, lien searches, GREAT bus passes and schedules.

Purchasing Division

 The Purchasing Division is responsible for handling the purchasing of all goods and services for the City of Greenville.
