The Greenville Recreation and Parks Commission has received a proposal to name the Dream Park sprayground, “Splash Point.” Commissioners will consider recommending this naming to City Council during the Commission meeting during a public hearing on June 12, 2013, 5:30 PM in City Council Chambers. Comments regarding the issue can be made in person at the meeting that night, or may also be submitted by e-mail to: grpd@greenvillenc.govor by mail to Naming Proposal, GRPD, P.O. The Recreation and Parks Department provides a variety of athletic, recreational, and arts and crafts activities for all ages and special populations. The department maintains over 25 parks and recreational facilities, including numerous gymnasiums, recreation and community centers, swimming pools, tennis courts, a soccer complex, softball and baseball fields, playgrounds, a greenway, as well as The Town Common and Greenville Toyota Amphitheater, River Park North, Bradford Creek Public Golf Course , the Aquatics and Fitness Center, the Extreme Park, The Sports Connection, and River Birch Tennis Center.
