Grant Brings Tech Jobs to Greenville

Post Date:03/26/2013

One Source Communications, a local telecommunications and software development company, has announced their intention to expand their operations in Greenville. One Source will double the size of their Arlington Boulevard corporate offices and offer employment to an additional 50 people over the next two years.

The City of Greenville’s Office of Economic Development provided assistance with the expansion project by applying for and obtaining a $250,000 grant from the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center on behalf of One Source Communications.

One Source Communications was founded by Greenville resident Mike Aman and employs a workforce of nearly 90 employees who provide a wide range of telecommunication services to corporate clients across the United States. On behalf of One Source, Aman expressed his appreciation to the City of Greenville upon being notified that the City had been awarded the grant.

“We are honored to be awarded this grant from the NC Rural Center as a part of our continued growth and expansion,” said Aman.  “We sincerely thank the staff with the City of Greenville for their guidance, support and efforts in helping us obtain the grant.  We are excited to continue growing our business in a way that honors God and positively impacts Greenville and the surrounding Eastern North Carolina community.”

The grant will be applied to construction costs associated with the office expansion project. The City is required to match the grant at $250 per job for a total of $12,500.

According to Mayor Allen Thomas, “the grant is an excellent example of how public/private partnerships can leverage resources for Greenville and help create prosperity for all residents. In order to ensure the City has a vibrant and healthy economy, it is essential we focus resources on our existing businesses. The Building Reuse and Restoration Grant through the NC Rural Center allows us to do that.”

Construction on the project is under way and is expected to be completed by late fall of 2013.
