The City manages several metered parking spaces. The Office of the Public Works Department is responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance and monitoring use of the spaces and meter coin collection. The Greenville Police Department Parking Enforcement Unit provides enforcement and the Planning, Neighborhoods and Economic Development Department act as the City's liaison with the Community Parking Districts (CPDs).

Parking meter rates, length of stay limits and hours of operation should be posted at the pay station. The City of Greenville encourage turnover and maximize utilization. Adjustments are recommended by the affected CPD, reviewed and approved by Economic Development in consultation with other City departments and implemented by the Parking Meter Operations Program. The operating hours are Monday thru Friday 9 am until 6 pm.
