American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
Ages: 15 & up
Strong swimming ability required
Become an American Red Cross Lifeguard. Course teaches the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies, CPR, First Aid and AED training. Pretest required, includes; 300 yard swim, treading and timed object retrieval. Must be age 15 by the last day of class. Fee includes $50 non-refundable deposit. Session times and locations may vary based on pool availability. This is a hybrid class; each student will need access to an electronic device and internet. Candidates are required to provide their own transportation to Washington, NC on Sunday session of course for deep water training. Session times and locations may vary based on pool availability; class is 24 hours long. There will be an online portion for classes.
201034.01 Friday - Sunday October 1-3 (pre-test will be held September 23 & online portion will be due by September 30). Register by September 20.
201034.02 Friday - Sunday, November 5-7 (pre-test will be held October 28 & online portion will be due by November 4). Register by October 25.
201034.03 Friday-Sunday December 28-30 (pre-test will be held December 9 & online portion will be due by December 27).
American Red Cross Lifeguard Recertification
Lifeguard recertification review class. Candidates must most possess current or recently expired (within last 30 days) American Red Cross Lifeguard certification. Pre-test is required and candidates will be notified prior to class for scheduling. Pre-test consists of; 300 yard swim, treading and timed object retrieval. Resuscitation mask and proof of current certification required for class. Fee includes $50 non-refundable deposit. Class dates and times will be announced at a later day.
