City Providing Small Business Technical Assistance Program

Small businesses in Greenville can now get technical assistance in critical areas such as marketing, risk management, financial management, and regulatory compliance through a new program offered by the City of Greenville's Neighborhood and Business Services Department.City staff handing out flyers

The 52-week program is being offered through a partnership with business development experts at the Monday Solutions Group. It begins in September, 2024 and applications are being accepted now.

Qualifying businesses will benefit from personalized business strategies tailored to their specific needs and participation in sessions to enhance business acumen. The initiative is designed to foster growth and resilience among local entrepreneurs, equipping them with the tools and knowledge necessary to thrive in today's competitive landscape.

To qualify, a business must meet these requirements:

  • Be located and in operation with the Greenville City limits or its Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ)
  • Have 10 or fewer part-time or full-time employees
  • Have annual gross sales of no more than $500,000 according to financial documents (i.e. federal tax filing, etc.)
  • Must have a business plan
  • Must demonstrate a need for technical assistance

An application is available online here. Applications are also available at the City of Greenville Municipal Building, 201 West Fifth Street. Submissions can be made in person to the Business Development Division as well as electronically to mrathore@greenvillenc.gov. The deadline for the application is Aug 23, 2024.
